Lilia is an experienced researcher with excellent understanding of basic neurobiology of neurodegenerative diseases and mechanisms of neurodegeneration. She worked on the prion hypothesis in Alzheimer’s disease (studying tau protein) and in Parkinson’s disease (studying alpha synuclein) and have an in-depth understanding on the common pathological mechanisms in these two diseases.
