Dopaminergic Circuit Function, Metabolism, and Selective Vulnerability

Sayan Dutta is a postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology in the Gradinaru Lab, where he studies neurodegeneration using spatial and single-cell proteomics and gene therapy. He earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University in interdisciplinary neuroscience and chemical biology, where his doctoral research focused on membrane-induced protein aggregation and phosphoproteomic alterations in in vivo preformed fibril (PFF) models of Parkinson’s disease. He holds degrees in chemistry from IIT Madras (Master’s) and Presidency College, Kolkata (Bachelor’s). His research interests center on Parkinson’s disease, protein aggregation, and therapeutic intervention strategies.
