Human genetic discoveries suggest that defects in the clearance of damaged energy-producing centers, known as mitochondria, are linked to the onset and progression of Parkinson’s disease (PD). We aim to undertake collaborative state-of-the-art research to derive a complete picture of how PD-relevant cellular
stress is integrated at mitochondria in brain cells to orchestrate clearance of damaged mitochondria and/or mitochondrial proteins. We are a team of scientists and neurologists with a track record of working together and open science that will elaborate new mitochondrial mechanisms underlying PD, thereby generating new ideas to treat patients.
