Parkinson’s disease (PD) is different for everyone, with some experiencing early-onset, faster progression or co-pathology, like Alzheimer’s proteins. This global initiative leverages large Brain Bank cohorts to understand why and how these differences occur. We will apply artificial intelligence and advanced lab techniques to investigate how distinct brain cells and proteins contribute to the development and progression of PD. The goal is to identify specific disease subtypes, find early warning signs, and discover new treatment targets. By mapping these patterns, we hope to define biological subtypes to improve diagnosis, determine early pathologies for targeting, and identify drivers of pathological progression.
