Patrick Cullinane, MD, PhD

Project Manager

University College London

Patrick is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow at UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology and an Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, specialising in movement disorders. He completed the Edmond J. Safra Fellowship in Movement Disorders at UCL. His research examines the biological basis of clinical and pathological heterogeneity in Parkinson’s disease and related disorders, including α-synuclein strain diversity and mechanisms of selective regional vulnerability. His work integrates human neuropathology with AI-based extraction of longitudinal clinical information from health records, spatial molecular profiling, data-driven modelling, and cellular models to define biologically meaningful disease subtypes, identify biomarkers and uncover therapeutic targets. His research is supported by competitive funding as Principal Investigator.
